Orion Eden Park – Admission Policy
Due to a drop in local pupil numbers in the area, Orion Eden Park High School is proposing to reduce their PAN from 240 to 180 for the pre-determined 2026-2027 Admission Policy.
This reduction reflects current student application numbers, future planning forecasts as well as the class structures within the school whilst maintaining capacity to support parental preference and Local Authority need for school places.
The Trust and its family of schools will consult on our school admissions policies between 12th December 2025 and 30th January 2026.
Should you wish to respond to the consultation, you may do so in either of the following ways:

After the consultation, our Trust Board will determine the policy at a meeting of the admissions authority held before the end of February 2026. Once determined, the policy will be updated online by 15th March 2026 and any objections can be made up to 15th May 2026 to the Office of the Schools' Adjudicator.
The Trust reviews the Admission Policies annually and may make changes if it is felt needed in the best interests of the school and our community.
The proposed changes for consultation in the 2027-2028 Admission Policy are:
All primary and secondary school’s oversubscription criteria to include:
- Students entitled to the Pupil Premium Grant or Service Premium Grant (up to 20% of the total places on offer) as a priority after Children Looked After (CLA)o Children of staff at school, to recognise the demonstrable skills shortage for recruiting to the newly opened school-based nurseries and therefore give a priority to have a child place in the school when needed as a priority after siblings.
- Children with medical or social needs to take priority over proximity to the school
- Primary School over subscription criteria to include places for children who are on roll in the primaries school-based nursery class at the time of application for a Reception place and who continues to attend the nursery up to the point of admission
- Secondary School over subscription criteria to include places for children who are on roll in an Orion Education Trust primary school at the time of application for a Year 7 place and continues to attend the primary school up to the point of admission
- Orion Eden Park are consulting on reducing the number of pupils they accept each year (their Published Admission Number or PAN) from 240 to 180.
- Orion Coopers will remove the banding process from his admissions criteria.
